joomla phpmail not working in WAMP

I am using WAMP to develop joomla sites. its an AWESOME program for this. However I am not able to get the php mail to work could that be attributed to WAMP or possibly joomla? I did research this on the joomla help forums and wasn't able to resolve the problem.

well for what i know you can use your isp smtp and pop to set apache to be able
to send mails but not sure how to set it up

yawasare, you're right if and only if your isp allow you to use their mail server and as far as spammers prevention, most host dont allow their users to use their mail server because you're not a spammer but spammers can detect your mail script and then use your isp's mail serve to send out spam mails sad smiley
