Hi all,

I have just installed wampserver2.0i on vista, but I am not able to connect to localhost.
Firefox gives the msg: unable to connect
I closed most other programs like skype, messenger and mcafee, but still nothing.
Anybody an idea.

Sorry if I seem a tad simple, but have you
tried [127.0.0.1] ??

If this works it may be just your "hosts" file that is either not present or corrupted.
And- you DO have wampserver activated, don't you?

Do a search for "hosts" and as well, see the following:

Hi aqk and Human,

The hosts file is ok, and offcourse the wampserver is activated.
The firewall does not seem to be the problem either.

Anybody else an idea.

It was the frirewall!
When I tried to open the Apache error log. It came with a msg screen asking me to allow connection after allowing this everything worked fine.

Problem Solved. Thanx for all the help!
