DocumentRoot on local network

Hi,

I it possible to point DocumentRoot somewhere on local network pc.

DocumentRoot "//server/www" or DocumentRoot "//10.0.0.100/www"

No its not possible.. the hardisk has to physically attached to the operating system runnign the system.


Apache doesnt have the capability to do this. Even if you connect the drive as a network drive it will not work. sorry

it will work if you set it up properly, for example, I'm running and setting 3 pc as redundant servers, ie, first die/crash, second immediately kick in, so on, and all web pages and db are stored on 2 NAS as seen here

I have set up 2 web servers behind load balancing just don't know how to pint them 2 web rvs to one source

hmm interesting, how did u configure apache to use NAS as DocumentRoot, if NAS is network drive and network drive can't part of DocumentRoot.

yes, you can and when it's done properly you can use any network pc, nas or usb but it's not simple to post in couple steps; might make a guide for it; on the other hand, you can have alternate way by using one of nas such as mine which is auto set as local drives w/o any configurations as seen in this quote
