I have had wampserver running locally on this computer a number of times with no problem but now with new installations whenever I try to access phpMyAdmin in either Wampserver release 2.0h or 2.0i i get the following error messages

Sql Query

(Red X) Show Plugins

MySQL said:
#1 - Can't create/write to file 'C:\WampServer2\bin\apache\Apache2.2.11\htdocs\2.4.1\tmp\#sql4b4_1_2.MYI' (Errcode: 2)

It looks like its looking for a previous installation that is no longer there. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled wampserver (more than once) - so it's not some action i've taken by mistake - if i had uninstall/reinstall would have sorted that

I've emptied all the temp directories on the C drive and private data from firefox to see if there is information held in memory somewhere that is causing the problem - but that's not made an ounce of difference.

Have i deleted a temp directory somewhere else on the hard drive that the program is trying to write to but can't find? I don't remember doing that but i could have...

I know nothing but my guess would be something to do with the plugins

Can anyone point me in the right direction, i've read loads, i'm seeing double - please help sad smiley

I was heading in the right direction.

I found this thread forum.wampserver.com/read.php?2,51587

Where toumimi suggests searching for any other instances of my.ini and removing them. I did a search and found a my.ini in windows. I deleted the file, uninstalled wampserver, rebooted the computer, reinstalled wampserver and all is now working fine.

Thank you to toumimi and all the other forums users who are there helping us find our way winking smiley
