Can't use tray icon

I'm not administrator on my Laptop so I asked IT dept to install WampServer for me. The installation seemed to work fine, but I cannot start the server. The tray icon pops up when I select WampServer in the start menu, but nothing happens when I click on the icon to put the server online... there's no menu.

Do I need to be administrator not only to install, but also to start and run WampServer?

Don't you mean the tray icon in the right-under corner of your desktop? It's next to your clock there.

or the wrong menu?

its left click for the wamp menu

you must login as admin w/ full privilege to run wampserver winking smiley

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info.

It would probably be a good idea to add an alert saying "You need administrator access to run WS" when a user is starting WampServer. I didn't get any info at all, I just couldn't get the menu to show.... which of course, makes WS useless.

not sure what you think when seeing the word "server", but to me, it's not for regular user winking smiley
