Hello everyone.

Recently i've had some problems connecting to localhost on firefox. It has never been an issue before and i can't seem to find help on google to solve it. It states that "Firefox can't connect to localhost" and that "the browser isn't capable of connecting eventhough it exists." So if there are anyone out there who knows a solution to this i would really appreciate it. I have my exams soon and i need it to function in order to show my php.

Best regards Sebastian

problem is localhost is not set up ...

to fix the localhost issue... open

c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

it should look like this...

[pampserver.com]

and you can download it here

[pampserver.com]

if you have trouble saving the file.. move it to the desktop , edit it and then move it back

mine looks like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost
: : 1 localhost

why are there two entries? is it because i also have dreamweaver and visual studio installed? or is it something i should delete?

right click on the file choose properties then security choose your username or user group. Now choose edit and add full control to your username the apply the settings .
Thats how to set the permission to edit the host file

I have this same problem and have tried editing the hosts file, it didn't work. I'm not sure what I have changed to make this stop working, I didn't have any problems about 2 weeks ago when I last used it. I'm using Vista. I've noticed there are several other posts on these forums regarding the same issue, but have only seen suggestions about editing the host file. If anyone has come across a solution to this, I would appreciate hearing it smiling smiley I've redownloaded it several times now.

When I open the index.php file in my www directory of wamp I get this (screenshot) [img8.imageshack.us]

attempting to go to phpmyadmin or sqlitemanager results in a File Not Found message. Its the same regardless of the browser I use.

(I really am not sure what info I can supply that is more helpful in describing the problem as I am definately new to working with PHP and databases, sorry!)
