Installing WAMP when I already have PHP5?

SOLVED - thanks!

Hi I'm new to this forum - as well as using PHP altogether.

I have PHP5 and Apache2 installed, and I wasn't sure about installing MYSQL (I have heard it's useful to have but that's the extent of my knowledge).

My main issue is that I'd like to install WAMP so that it will auto-configure MYSQL with everything, but I'm worried that it will overwrite/mess up my already-working PHP and Apache server.

I'd appreciate any suggestions/info
Thank you!

note: I was looking at installing WampServer2.0

If you already have PHP and Apache installed and working, you'd better just install MySQL stand alone. It's not difficult at all.
WampServer works best, if you have none of its components installed yet.

or backup all your webpages, uninstall apache, php, run regedit to search and delete any related registry, restart computer, install wamp, save all your webpages in www folder ;-)

Ok thanks guys, you both answered my question really well. I suspected as much, but I wasn't sure. I'll try installing MYSQL first, and if that doesn't work I'll just do what yfastud suggested.

Thank you! grinning smiley
