you don't really need a router to open ports i did it by simply opening the ports of my windows fire wall
and you can just change the port the server listens to an you don't even have to learn to forward your ports

this is not new?

the problem is everyone has a router.... cos they have broadband.,. this may explain why ur site is so slow to load

i use dsl and the isp has a nat firewall but you dont really need a router to get your site online cause i tested it on another pc

router grant users network access, but users can always connect dsl/cable directly to computers ;-)

not where i live...

most homes just have a standard 2 core telephone cable which the router will turn into a DSL line.

dial up runs on the line... DSL runs on a higher frencuncy on the same line.the common router in most peoples homes does this. not the pc


only in the US is cable modems more availble then DSL

Wordlwide DSL is king

not usre how it works where you live, but I have work travel to some european and asian countries, as well as in us, dsl work just like cable: line from walljack connect to dsl/cable modem then from there connect to pc either directly or through router
