works with 127.0.0.1 but not localhost

Hi,

I can get a web page when I type in [127.0.0.1] by not when I replace the ip address with localhost. Can anyone tell me why?

fix hosts at windodws\system32\etc

Hi,

not help for me. I install Vista last week and host file is in the windows\system32\drivers\etc.
Inside the host is :

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

and I can`t connect with localhost only 127.0.0.1 is OK.

Can somebody help me?

I removed this line from the host file and it worked.

::1 localhost
