I recently installed WAMP. I build dynamic pages with Dreamweaver 8. For some reason, DW8 will not accept the database connection configuration and allow me to connect. I did not have this problem using the stand alone installs of Apache, PHP and MySQL.
I get the following error message when testing the connection:
HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found. Here are some possibble reasons for the problem:
1) There is no testing server running on the server machine
2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to the "[
localhost] URL"
I can assure you that my server connection and site configuration is correct. They are identical to the settings I had before installing WAMP.
Also, if I set a root password for MySQL, phpmyadmin will no longer connect to my database. This isn't an immediate problem since there is no public access to my computer, but if I decide to use WAMP in a live environment, I certainly do not want MySQL unproptected.
Any suggestions?
