you run it by yourself or a company runs it and offer you a free account; if the second choice, it should be ok; if not, you should not try it since the moment you send out an email, spammers' bots would immediately detect your mail to use it for their own purposes and of course, you have to take all responsibilities for their actions :-(

don't get me wrong, I don't try to scare anyone here but just a friendly reminder that you should learn how to have secure scripts before practicing mail or you're just simple become one of spammers' victims

There are two ways by which you can send the email using PHP Scrips

1) Incase you are having a DIRECT Internet Connection on the PC on which you are hosting your webserver then simply you can use the SMTP Function (which is available incase you are installing some forum script or other similar scripts). If you are NOT having any email id which gives you SMTP Server for free then try using [www.gawab.com].

2) Alternatively you can setup MAIL SERVER on this machine itself (incase its having direct connection to internet) or some another machine. In your PHP.INI simply write the IP Address of the machine on which the email server is installed and generally the default port is 25 (Until and unless you using SSL Encryption Script which is itself an advanced topic)
