mod_rewrite does not work

I have been using mod_rewrite for ages untill it suddenly stopped working. I have checked that mod_rewrite is on and it is. It even says so in the php info. I think it stopped working when i tried to add an alias. I deleted the alias but now it still wont let use the mod rewrite.

Please help asap

I don't even have that module.:/ Also, if I activate the equivalent, rewrite_module, it gives me a 500 Internal Server Error:/ Any fix for it?

Nevermind:p I had an error in my .htaccess file - checked the apache error log and found out why I got that error..smiling smiley
