If using Skype, open Skype > Tools > Options > Connections > Advanced > untick "use port 80 ..." then restart Wamp then Skype

Hi Guys,

I am getting crazy, just I had got it working before but with the new version I am getting that same error Aestan "Could not execeute menu item..."

It is not skype, nor it appears that the problem could be the port... I used "NETSTAT -p tcp -ano" to see if any other process was listening to 80 or 443, and nothing was there....

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, etc...

As far a AV, I am running MS Security Essentials, but it did not give any problems before, some time ago when I was using version 2.0 of WAMP, it looks it is something with 2.1e...

Any ideas?

Thanks.

OK, I had to REALLY reinstall WAMP... that solved it.

I figured it out by going to the Application Event Log, and fiding out that for some reason, apache had not installed completely and httpd.conf file was missing (with a bunch of others...)

Hope it helps sombone

I had the same problem and this is how i fixed it:

1.- i'm using FireFox and i noticed tha my firefox is installed in the following folder:
c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

2.- when i checked this files on the "c:\wamp" folder

wampmanager.ini
wampmanager.conf

i found that there was a mistake on the Firefox folder, it was like this

c:\Program Files\MozillaFirefox\

3.- so i added the space to make it exactly like the one in my program files folder

Find what: MozillaFirefox
Replace with: Mozilla Firefox

I had the same problem.
Here is the best solution:

#1>Launch Wampserver.
#2>Left click the wamp icon in systray and hover to Apache menu.
#3>From this menu, select httpd.conf
#4> In the httpd.conf file, look for the line that says "Listen 80"
#5>Change the 80 to some other number. (I used 100).
#6>Restart wampserver
#7> In order to test, type localhost:100.
Now you will see the wampserver home page. Your installation is succesful.
Just remember, whenever you need to say localhost/yourpage, use localhost:100/yourpage

Try changing the port number as explained in my post above smiling smiley. I'm sure that'll solve the issue.

Greetings,

I've just skimmed through the posts in this thread as I was in search of the same type of error just a few minutes ago, but while I was waiting for this page to come up I had a thought and tried something that ended up working for me to resolve the Aestran tray error.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and the other day I came across the 'Customize...' (system tray notifications) menu when right clicking on the tray menu arrow.

This menu error had been off and on again as I would uninstall and reinstall and, of course, when the menu options aren't working correctly because of the tray error dialog popping up it leads one to believe there are issues with the operation of the menu functions or server rather than the tray icon app itself (just guessing here).

Anyway, when I customize the system tray icon for WAMP so that it's always shown instead of hidden (or, show notifications only), I receive the error. It appears the icon menu is trying to re-load itself and preventing the menu item from being executed.

When I set the tray icon to always hide--unless, of course, I bring it up using the system tray expand arrow and then use the WAMP menu--everything works fine and no menu error dialog box.

Hope this helps,

James

I've installed Wamp Server (WampServer 2.1e) and getting this same error with the Aestan Tray Menu (Could not execute menu item (internal error) and have Zone Alarm. I've shutdown ZoneAlarm but still have the issue.

Is there a workaround?

Why is running Zonealarm an issue?

Thanks

CompUSA stores have big clearance, mostly TV and desktops/laptops but found these Blu-Ray players at the very bargain prices, 90+% off, so if you still have some CompUSA stores in your area, you should check it out

Panasonic 5.1 BD Theater System SC-BT230P-K regular $399.99 clearance $38.99
Link for reference:

Sony BD Player BDP-S360 regular $299.99 clearance $24.99
Link for reference:

These systems are just perfect for my setup since I've already had 10 speakers (4 150w Floor, 4 100w Surround, 1 100w Center, 1 12' Sub-woofer) in Living room, so I just simply hook up Sony BDP-S360 to Sony 52' Bravia KDL-52V5100 and Denon AVR-888 in Living room while connecting SC-BT230P-K to 50' LG 50PS60 in Master Bedroom winking smiley

I too am having this issue (getting this error) after installing WampServer2.2a-x64 on Windows 7 Professional.

I also have ColdFusion 8 installed on this computer. Is that the problem? I have certain parts of IIS turned on so that ColdFusion will work. Any suggestions??

Also, is there any way around the Nod32 issue? I paid good money for that program and hate to waist it.

Are there any options or work-arounds you can suggest? I really need WAMP Server installed for a class I'm taking.

Thank you.

Yes you can switch wamp onto another port.

Left click wamp>apache>httpf.conf

Change

Listen 80

To

Listen 81

Save and restart wamp.

But you will need to use localhost:81 to access in the broswer

First of all - Stop Reinstalling Wamp , It wont solve anything at all.

there is something else installed on your pc that is blocking wamp.

use cmd, to track down whats using the port

Hi there,
I am using window XP and having the same problem here. I have no IIS, Skype, Zone Alarm, NOD32, Eset, Internet Optimizer, Google Accelerator, any other database server, any other webserver.

My wampserver working fine for the past few months. I working it with dreamweaver to do my project on database development. Everytime I start wampserver, the tray icon will be red in colour at 1st, then turn orange and green after that. But today, it just stop at the orange color.

I couldn't preview my website locally through dreamweaver as what I did yesterday and the day before.

What should I do?

Please start a new thread.
There is so much in this one, not sure exactly what your problem is.

Specify exactly what your problem is, giving error messages, and what you do to get the error.

Mention your
OS Version, 32 or 64 bit.
Colour of your wamp manager icon when you run wamp.
Is this a new install?
Has it worked before but suddenly stopped etc.
