I just upgraded to wamp2, but the facility to change the default localhost directory that used to be present in the old install is no longer available. How do I change my localhost directory from c:\wamp\www to j:/somewhereelse

Thanks

in c:/wamp/bin/apache/apache2/conf

Open httpd.conf and change all paths of c:/wamp/ww to wat u want.

The drive ,must be in the pc. It cannot be a network drive

Thank you.

For reference I made 2 changes, search for wamp/www and don't forget the extra / at the end.

I rather stupidly had changed the serverroot !!
ServerRoot "c:/wamp/bin/apache/apache2.2.8" leave this alone!

Hello,
I've been struggling with this now for about a week.
Win 7 Pro
I make the two changes in http.conf (from c:/wamp/www/ to c:/mydocs/www/ or to f:/mydocs/www/ it makes no difference) , restart the wampserver and now its icon goes from red to amber and that's it.

I can tell you it's not case sensitive. In my directory I have at least an index.html and a index.php file.

I managed to get it operational on a win xp machine a year ago.

Back to http.conf on the new Win 7 pc:
I set it back to c:/wamp/www/ or C:/Wamp/www/ (it makes no difference) double quotes of course and it works once again.
Even my drive mappings work.

What's going on here ?
What can we do to find what's going on here ?
Thank you.
