I am having the same problem, but I don't have a config.inc.php. I have a config.inc, and it says I should update config.inc.php. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the help, but I'm still having a problem. I made the change you said. Now it says cannot load mysql. I checked the PHP.ini file and the extension = mysql is uncommented.
I reinstalled WAMP and tried deleting the i off of "MYSQLi" but i still receive the message "Cannot load SQL extension" what else can I do to fix this?
yep, it's really messed up since you install too many web server and they conflict each other to the point you have hard time to find the real cause; the simplest fix might be reformat hard drive, install windows and wamp only
I used everybodies examples to help figure out the problem and I did something a tad different to fix this problem so hope this helps anyone.
When I installed this wamp server on my windows vista computer, I already had apache, php, & mysql installed previously but I installed wamp over everything and it seemed like it worked but couldn't use my phpmyadmin. so what I had to do was remove all the programs in my control panel including apache, php, and mysql. I also deleted the folder directory completely off of my computer than I reinstalled wamp and now phpmyadmin works fine.
A suggestion, do not install WAMP in a location that has spaces in the path (ex. "c:\Program Files\wamp" ). I've had the mysqli issue and other issues in Windows XP and Windows Vista when I installed into the Program Files directory.
When I reinstall into a path without spaces (ex. c:\ProgramFiles\wamp" ), the mysqli issue (and some other issues) go away.
