mod_security?

So I've installed WAMP for the first time. Anyway I've got this basic page that reloads and calls a function in another file with a button click. But whenever I run and click on said button I get a "403 ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access" error. Now digging round the net, people are saying that mod_security needs to be running. Something that WAMP doesn't seem to install.

Anyway, I'm wondering if thats really what I need to do? and if so how would one go about getting and installing mod_security on WAMP.

Hi,

If the page is on the same server under the same document root, you should not need any external modules to access that. It is possible to set up username and password security by using the .htaccess file and auth_basic_module.

You need to look at the access rights first in your virtual host settings, and the properties of the file and the folder where it resides in the Windows file system.
