WampServer

If there is a FAQ a newbie could understand that someone could direct me too I'd be grateful.

I have a basic website and mysql database co-located and dreamweaver never shows me anything in design view on the php files. I hoped WAMP would cure this problem so i could work on my site outside code view (doable but time consuming) so if I download a copy of my database I should be able to install that locally into WAMP correct?

I'm not interested in using my local PC for hosting or anything, I just want to be able to edit the php files (templates to be specific) then re-upload them to the live server.
