Can't access phpmyadmin
Posted by: Gerry (---.185.189.72.cfl.res.rr.com)
Date: April 24, 2008 09:52PM

I finally managed to gain access to my localhost, and now I realise that I can't access phpmyadmin. I have followed the instructions at [forum.wampserver.com], but it still didn't work. SQLiteManager come up without any problems.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hmmm....after making the changes in phpmyadmin.conf, the wamp icon is now yellow, and no connection is possible. Here's the apache error log:

YES!!! That fixed it! Now everything works! Thanks again, Steven!

One last issue (I hope):
In localhost>My Projects, when I click on the project listed there, "abc-march08", I get the following error message:

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Hey Gerry
After you change the codes in phpmyadmin alias, now your mysql is wide open to every1 so make sure you at least put .htaccess there to protect your db from outside strangers ;-)

Here's what's happening now:

- I added a new directory directory and file - wamp/www/test1/phptest.php - with my "hello world" script , that came up fine, so it seems like a directory name with a "-" or other character will cause problems

- I have restarted the services and now phpmyadmin will not open anymore. I am getting the 403 forbidden -"You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/ on this server."

Thanks.

If you change the codes as Steven suggested, you have to access through 127.0.0.1 not localhost anymore
