lol I have go through every post and done everything

I have updated from
4.1.22 -> 5.0.51a
php version 5.2.5
apache version 2.2.8
phpmyadmin version 2.10.1

now
localhost/phpmyadmin recive error "#2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) "

wamp icon is compleatly white with no errors. have gone through my.ini Port number 3306 and my congid.inc.php and the port is blank (like should be). phpmyadmin still works in the previous version I had downloaded
what do I need to do to fix

also 2 other questions
how do I change my defalt phpmyadmin theme?
and I downloaded phpMyAdmin2.11.6 from phpmyadmin.net how do i use this?? At this time it is unziped in my apps folder

After uninstall old mysql, you need to clean its registry before installing this wamp, so you might try to uninstall everything, delete all related registries and reinstall this wamp ;-)

um I just used an add-on and added it. and I have done a clean install/register clean. I had the newest version and it wasn't working so I downloaded the add-on to get it to work

UM ok After Uninstalling Deleteing reg lines and Rebooting, installed 2.0b and the first thing I did was go to 127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin and I got the same darn error. Not shure what I am doing wrong. like I should see the phpmyadmin when I first install.... Right?

I have Fellowed both of JlBN wamp setup and password setup tuts and failer is what I get


What sucks It that using a older version of everything worked untill I click "mysql console" and entered a password to witch the console closes (flashed error "wrong password"

Ok so any Ideas?

Guess what There was a my.ini in my windows folder and the way you all have mysql looking for files is

what I dont understand is that looking at this they should both be looking at the same file

But they where not.... Thus I have deleted this my.ini file from \windows\

U have xammp installed, u cant have another server installed. delete all servers , and install wamp

A lot of people had problem after used and even already uninstall xampp, so if you like to use wamp, check with them the proper way to uninstall and clean everything belong to xampp before installing wamp

No matter which wamp package or standalone, MySQL and php.ini always looks for my.ini and php.ini in windows folder first

lol I could have Gussed Yeah XAMP hasn't been on my computer for over a year. I had it before Wamp

Even though you uninstall xamp it leves somethings behind like the my.ini in the windows folder
