This is an old thread, but I thought I would put my 2 cts in..
It's been ny experience that wamp is very forgiving..There are compatiblity problems in certain mixes of Apache/PhP/Mysql. But those are usually do to playing to much.
I have played with wamp for sometime and loaded it down to the ground and recovered gracefully. The only problems I have found is when one is careless about site page configurations and DB/server calls.
The cleaning registry solution should be a last resort solution, but will definetly solve the problem.
But first I would check my firewall to port settings to see if they have changed.
Go here if you have firewall issues and your running xpPro...[
support.microsoft.com]
Check The 3 files as suggested by JLBN following his notes.
Undo the last thing you loaded..
Check to see if the required port is being used as suggested above..
Many times we load a program and it runs in idle until we call it again..Check this for interference..
If you have to go to the registery be careful and take it slowly. One deletion can cost you a re-intall..
Do as suggested above for any name related to wamp..Careful here!!! If you have MS SQL installed don't mistake it for MYSQL..Look at each key entry carefully it's normally displayed on the left side.. You may find something like "C:\Navkit\Msql\" That has nothing to do with what you are doing..
After you have purged you registers then take your daily registry cleaner like "The Free windows registry repair tool", and remove the left overs from those purgings of the registry you just did. This will get it all and you will be able to start from scratch like new...
Did not mean to impose on anyone here. JLBN has helped so many it's awesome. I am studying php and the latest VB due to the retirement of VB6. and hopefully someday I will be able to contribute more..Hope this helps anyone.
