Hello, Can anyone help me, I've tried evry thing I know,
all i have done is installed wamp, i havent even started anything yet

I'm going through a installing WAMP tutorial and it said half way through if the icon is not white then there's a problem,

1.My icon is half yellow and half white,
2.when i put [localhost] in my IE browser I get "The page cannot be displayed" or it's just blank
3.when i put [127.0.0.1] in my IE browser it says at the bottom left of my browser that it's
"downloading from site: res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdock.dll/dnserror.htm" then says done then there's just a blank page.

I have tried:
Unistalling NOD32 (but I've now reinstalled it)
Turning off my fire wall (i've got that back on!)
I even installed IIS and got that to display the defult windows screen thingy (I've unistalled it now!)
Changed Port 80 to 8080 in the httpd.conf (changed if back now because i hear its better being 80)

Can anyone help me, do you need my log or somthing? what should i do? ;_;

P.S I have a router...

it seems you do too much and they're all conflict now. You should uninstall all of them including wamp, delete wamp folder, restart computer, then reinstall wamp only

Did you disable IIS too? Anyway, do you have any other app in this list: IIS, ZoneAlarm, Skype, Google Accelerator, Internet Optimizer, ...

Nope, I don't have any of them & i've remove IIS so its not even a Windows component anymore. ???
Actualy I've found that if i refresh the localhost page it does the same as the [127.0.0.1] page
What should i do now?

Hello,

I have just discovered to have the same problem and I have discovered that the problem was that the software skype used the same port 80 as Wampserver. Exiting from skype and restarting the tools suite worked and now i have all the tools online again. Skype was the reason why I had half yellow and half white icon.

Hope to have been useful.

Hi thanks for your reply, But I don't have Skype, so i decided to check if it could be something else, I downloaded Active Port and I had a few thing like pop peeper that was using port 80, infact firefox was using port 80 too, so i created a restore point and uninstalled all things that are not standard windows, but still nothing changed... What could be wrong...? Is there anything else I can try? ;_;

I had the yellow/white icon, so I will just tell you the STUPID reason why it happened to me - I had changed the httpd.conf file slightly and typed:
Order allow, deny

Spot the mistake? You can't have a space after the comma, even though you probably have the habit of doing so in normal documents! That was causing Apache not to fire up, and the yellow icon problem. Took me a good day to figure it out...

Check that you haven't done anything like that.
