404 error reading php

Ok this is the new tread i do not whan't people to get lost so i resubmited the question

ok in the httpd file

ServerAdmin rave420@sbcglobal.net

thats all that was changed in the file httpd



now in the php.ini

doc_root ="c:/wamp/www/"

thats all that was changed in php.ini

ok on the server settings

here is what is checked

on my server here i have short open tags -checked
y2k comply - checked Expose php - checked
display errors -checked log errors - checked report memleaks - checked register long arrays - checked
regester argc argv -checked magic quotes gpc - checked
magic quotes runtime -checked magic quotes sybase - checked enable dl -checked file uploads - checked
allow url fopen - checked and allow url included- checked


nothing else was changed



ok now for the problam


I instaleld dolpin and followed it all as i was told to do and deleated the install directory as told at the end leaveing only the configuration and needed files for the server. Ok i loaded it fine in local mode
so a friend and i ran thrue the problams of not seeing the server I shut off the Modem fire wall wndows network firewall and put a html file so he could try to access it on the outside

when he tryed to load the index.php he got 404 error so i had him load the index1.html from the same dirtory and it loded with out problams then i tryed to have him run the admin page in www/admin/
ok he tryed loading the admin.php and got the 404 error i moved the index2.html to the directory of admin and he loaded it fine thrue the ip so i am stuck i have no idea what to do to get the php file loading
thrue the ip address i have only changed the above.....i need help on this

any ideas what could be the problam ?


ps. you can run the same test with the index1.html you will see it loads fine and then try to load the index.php and see the 404 error i dunno i hate to be stuck i ahve so much work to do on this
server problams only slow me down i need to fix the problam so i cna go live with my
page..please help

Not sure why you had to change too many things since I've installed and setup Dolphin before w/ NOTHING CHANGE like you did at all

Undo what you did, and pm the link so I can download and reinstall it and I will take some screenshots for you ;-)

boonex.com is where you can downlaod dolphin

umm.. it runs local just fine with out problams

when it try to access it true the ip address i get the 404 error

you can conect to it by the ip adress and see the index1.html is working fine from the server with no problams

but i dunno why it will nto show the php index.php I am useing the Add version of dolphin so be sure you get the right won when you test it if you find the problam contact me by email rave420@sbcglobal.net

ok on my php setting i unclicked all but the short tags

if you remove it you no longer see the php so i left it
checked

You will have to access the php from another computer so you
will not be seeing local i see it local just fine with every thing but short tags
unclicked i dunno why it will not see it thrue the ip address but it will see the index.html thrue the ip just fine php is more complexed i guess...

I see wate your help and will check back to see if you replyed
