username and password to mysql

i am installing mediawiki...
it asked me for user name and password for mysql..

i want to change the default wamp pass and username for mysql
(security reason)
and load them to the media wiki installation...

i checked the phpmyadmin, but i am kind of afraid to change there the username and the password
it may or may not effect on all wamp...i don;t know

*media wiki do not let passsword be blank

what do i need to do?

i played with that a while and set a neww password for the root

now i got
"access denied for user 'root'@localhost'
using - #1045
password: no


it told me to go to config.inc.php and to change the passwords and usernames...
i messed it all up and now i don't know what to do

i followed all those steps

and after the last step got:

now i got
"access denied for user 'root'@localhost'
using - #1045
password: no

"i am being told to check config.inc.php..."

what i need to change there?

no matter i would do now will get this error when i enter phpmyadmin...
do i have to reinstall wamp again?

First, you need to undo everything that you changed then follow the guide. If still have problem then post here
