I'm using Windows Vista Home Preumium 32bit and experiencing the same issue, everything works thru [
127.0.0.1] but when trying to access the page thru [
localhost] nothing happens. For me it seems like an issue with the host file in Vista or something like that but not sure.
PS. What is SQL BD that you can't use?
--- EDIT #1 ---
There seems to be somekind of problem with ipv6 and the loopback interface. Trying to search for a solution to this problem at the moment...will update with solution if I find any.
--- EDIT #2 - Solution ---
Yes, I managed to get [
localhost] to work like it should =)
Go to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" and open the file "hosts", place a comment infront of "::1" which is the loopback for TCP/IP over ipv6 afaik. If you have your webserver running it should be working immediately.
Your "hosts" file should look like this:
---------------------------------
# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
#::1 localhost
---------------------------------
If you don't get it to work turn off User Account Control and the Windows Defender and then edit your hosts file. Thoose 2 changes are all I have done since monday when I installed windows vista.
