I just installed WampServer and whenever I try to start Apache it fails to start. When I test Port 80, there appears to be some type of conflict. I am not running Skype as as possible culprit. I found this to be the same issue when I tried to install and run XAMPP. Could it be either a conflict with my internal wireless within my laptop or the wireless mouse that I am using from Gyration or perhaps Trenmicro's PCCillin maybe?
I chose Wampserver because it appears to offer greater ease in what I want to do.
Stupid question because again I am a newbie. I think I got it to work since the Start/Resume Service choice within Apache is grey'ed out however when I test the Port, it says that port 80 is in use perhaps by Skype, which it isn't. I am thinking that its looking at the IM programs that are running using this port. I changed the ports for apache to use 8080, so I am thinking that your suggestions worked. How can I confirm this before going forward? In fact how can I confirm that everything is working?
You should change port for the other app since it's NOT convenient to change port for Apache because after changed you have to include port in url always; for example, localhsot:8080 instead just localhost
