Just installed wamp, am using XP. The c:/wamp folder is there with about 155MB. The wampmanager conf file:

[main]
language = english
status = offline
wampserverVersion = 2.0
wampserverLastKnown = 2.0
installDir = c:/wamp
navigator = C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe
defaultLanguage = english

[php]
phpVersion = "5.2.5"
phpLastKnown = 5.2.5
phpIniDir = .
phpConfFile = php.ini
phpExeDir = .

[phpCli]
phpCliVersion = 5.2.5
phpExeFile = php.exe
phpCliFile = php-win.exe

[apache]
apacheVersion = "2.2.6"
apacheLastKnown = 2.2.6
apacheExeDir = bin
apacheConfDir = conf
apacheExeFile = httpd.exe
apacheConfFile = httpd.conf
apacheServiceInstallParams = -n wampapache -k install
apacheServiceRemoveParams = -n wampapache -k uninstall

[mysql]
mysqlVersion = "5.0.45"
mysqlLastKnown = 5.0.45
mysqlConfDir = .
mysqlConfFile = my.ini
mysqlExeDir = bin
mysqlExeFile = mysqld-nt.exe
mysqlServiceInstallParams = --install-manual wampmysqld
mysqlServiceRemoveParams = --remove wampmysqld

[apps]
phpmyadminVersion = 2.10.1
sqlitemanagerVersion = 1.2.0

But there is no icon on my Firefox bar. I don't know how to access phpmyadmin, etc. Don't see any application program in the pgpmyadmin2.10.1 folder. What did I miss?

Blank screen. I suppose this means that the servers are not running?

When I bring up my windows task manager, sqlmangr.exe is listed under processes, but I don't see apache there. After the initial installation, I saw it listed, but I rebooted (always the first thing I try if something newly installed isn't working) and now I don't see it, so it didn't start up.

Do you have any IIS, skype, zone alarm, NOD32, kaspersky, avg, internet optimizer, google accelerator, or something similar?

Of those, just skype.

In that case, try to change port for skype

Setup skype using different port as follows File -> Options -> Connection -> Uncheck "Use port 80 as an alternative for..."

Restart wamp and try again

Changing the port for skype didn't help. But I just uninstalled the entire Wamps server, deleted the download setup file and redid the download and install. And everything seems fine.

Blame it on those nasty cosmic rays from a distant black hole playing havoc with my internals.

Thanks for helping.
