I have been reading for about 2 days and are starting to freak out. what Is it I need to do. I have fellowed the instructions in other posts with nothing at change
UM Ok I found out that When I change my MySql version to 4.1.22 I can ver the phpMyadmin however I read "MySQL client version: 5.0.45" However localhost/index.php show MySql "MySQL Version : 4.1.22 "
and "Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole."
What up with the First thing>?? and how do I fix the second?

The first is based on dll file which is good for both version 4 and 5, so don't worry about it For the second, check Setup Password on my personal websites
Hey, I get the same #2003 error when I try to access phpMyAdmin also. I just installed WAMPSERVER 2.0 or WAMP5.. . . not exactly sure what it's called yet because I've seen both names throughout the installation and help file. However, on the error page, I just click on the 'Open new phpMyAdmin window' link and everything looks like the page on yfastud's 'Setup WAMP' guide located on his/her personal site. But I still have a couple of questions.
Are we supposed to change 'default-storage-engine=INNODB' to 'default-storage-engine=MyISAM' in the MySQL 'my.ini' file?
And will this error page always come up when I first try to access phpMyAdmin or is there a way to fix it so it opens correctly? Will it change when I start building php/mysql files?
Um IDK where to find the "Setup Password" or "personal websites" I am a noob but not retarded this isn;t in the mi.ini is it? I know I change the password in the PhpMyAdmin and in .conf.inc but I guess I need to do more reading
Oh my goodness!!! My personal websites always show in my signature and you've never seen it??? When you go there, you will find a lot of useful guides among other useful stuffs
