just dl and installed the WAMP on XP, everything looks OK.

All services turnon and Localhost pointer works.

------------------------------------------------

Need to bring down from hosting Provider server about 4 websites with their respective MySql db.

I only plan to use this server for testing and development. So.. I'm not worried about security issues at least not with the server.

I've worked with it a bit, but it is more complex than I thought it would be.

Not sure if I can just do backups and import into WAMP LS / or whether I should FTP the site folders down to my Wamp server folders.

The website server has Cpanel so I can use Cpanel backup for each site, and respective MySql dbs.

Since I don't have Cpanel on the WAMP I'm not sure about whether I can restore the Cpanel Backups.

There is no real issue with just moving the sites down via FTP, but the MySql I'm not sure about.

I noticed an Export/Import function on the webserver and the WAMP local server (phpadmin)

This may take more than a simple explanation... some links would be fine.

Thanks

From your host, use cpanel to backup db's and save w/ sql extension, then on local machine, use phpmyadmin to import those db's
