WampServer

Hello guys,

I tried to install the WampServer 2.0 on Vista Home Premium and the installation finished successfully. But afterwards the Apache simply did not start. The eventlog recogniced that the could not start, because the config file was expected under "/bin/conf/httpd.conf". I tried to change the parameter, but I was not able to find the location where I could do so.

Can you help me? Or tell me why the path is wrong direct after the installation.

Wamp2 does NOT upgradeable from previous wamp, so before installing wamp2, make sure you uninstall old wamp, delete its folder, clean up its registry which is wampapache and wampmysql, restart computer then reinstall wamp2

In addtion, make sure you don't have any other soft that use or block port 80 and 3306 such as iis, skype, internet optimizer, zone alarm, so on

This computer is brandnew. No Wamp was installed before and it was not able to connect on port 80 via telnet 'cause no other service was running on that port. As I told the problem is, that the httpd.exe is not able to find the httpd.conf on "bin/conf/httpd.conf". The parameter is simply wrong.

This is not a problem caused by previous versions or blocked ports.

Further ideas?

Did you check it? If already, try to reinstall w/ another download one from here or from my server here:

[downloads.jlbn.net]

Before reinstall, uninstall the current one, delete its folder, clean its registries which are wampapache and wampmysql, restart computer then reinstall w/ new download

after reinstalling (second time) Windiws asked me whether the apache service shall be blocked or not. This didn't happen the times before. By now it is working.

Oh! So you were blocked by windows firewall/defender, and that's why I keep reminding people to make sure to enable wamp/port 80 + 3306 in all firewalls/antivirus

BTW, don't misunderstood; Rom is the developer of this wamp, and I'm just an user like you, maybes using wamp a little longer than you ;-)

the the httpd.conf and every attempt to repaire that failed. i am facing a new problem now. I want to reinstall wamp2 again. while i am trying to uninstall the older wamp2, i will be rejected and the command will be denied.

can anybody help a 51 years old guy solving this problem, ie how can i uninstall wamp2 from C:\?

you should uninstall both wamp and firewall/antivirus, remove wamp folder, run regedit to search and delete 2 instances wampapache and wampmysql, restart pc, reinstall wamp, then reinstall firewall/antivirus while wamp is running winking

I have checked for port 80.

It is not restricted by any software.

Also I have already Reinstalled wampserver 3 Times but Apache is not starting.
