WampServer

hi ,

1. i have a red icon in my tray. if i try start it goes yellow and then back to red.
2. when i click put online the following error coes up :
Can not execute menu item (internal error)(exception) could not perfrom service action. the service has not been started.
3. when i load phpmyadmin the page rings up a 404 error.


any suggestions ?

Make sure you don'thave any web or db server or any soft that uses same port 80 and 3306 such as iis, skype, internet optimizer, so on. If you don't have any of those, you might want to uninstall wamp, delete wamp folder, clean wampapache's and wampmysql's registry, restart computer, then reinstall wamp

Were do i find the wampapache and wampmysql in the registry . I looked but could not find anything ?

is it in hkey - root , hkey current user , local machine users or current config ?

and then what do i do once i have found it ?

After opening regedit, just click ctrl + f, then delete them when found

hi ,

I get an error cannot delete key , when i try delete wampapache and wampmysql ?

now what ?

I have deleted everything except an empty wamp folder (cant be deleted as it is being used)
when i try re-install i get errors starting "put online"

any suggestions ?

The problem seems to be with mysql .

I reinstalled and tested port 80 . it mentioned it was being used by mysql and php . I still get an error 404 message for phpmyadmin .

I looked at te php error log ad it mentioned that there was none . would you like to create one ?it asked .

so the problem seems to be with mysql and php .

do you know how to go about reinstalling them manually ?

When you can NOT delete means it's still running, so make sure you have to shut down wamp completely before deleting; if still can't delete them, restart computer then try to delete them again; if you didn't clean them completely before reinstalling, you will absolutely get the same problem again
