Is it possible to set my root folder to anything outside the wamp\www folder... I tried by changing it in the config files but no joy.

0. Edit your apache conf file
\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.6\conf\httpd.conf

1. Search the line "DocumentRoot" and modify with the new folder for your root
For example set it to:
DocumentRoot "D:/weblocal/www/"

2. Few lines below, find the line "<Directory ......>" and do the same :
use the same path of your new root folder
For example set it to:
<Directory "D:/weblocal/www/">

Save, restart wamp and it should work.

XP SP3 - pIV - 3.2Ghz - 1.5Go de ram - Wamp 2.0

Yep, you have to make sure to change it in 2 locations on that file, not just 1, then restart wamp to take effect

I have done the above but it did not work... I was wondering why... is it because I am specifying a mapped network drive letter?
