Greetings everyone.


I'm new to the WAMP server technology. I just installed it so I can add URL's to sites that I'm designing to test browser compatibility.

Basically, now that I've got it installed are there any special configurations that I need to do?

So you are suggesting that I do this first....

I'm not sure what I would need a password setup for... could you please explain?

Also, are there any Root Directory changes that I need to make for the httpd file or should I just keep everything in my C: drive?

For your own security, you should setup password because you never know someday someone might use your desktop/laptop and accidentally make just a "little" mistake but cost you a "very big" headache to fix

If you're new to this wamp, you should keep everything by default until you fell very comfortable to edit anything to your desire

I would just say that you must place all your projects/pages in c:\wamp\www\ directory. Then you can access them by typing [localhost] (make sure wamp is running correctly, full white icon).

im also new to wamp, just installed it on my laptop, im runing vista home premium.
my problem is how can i configure my wamp security? or do i need to have user name and pasword for apache, php, my sql? if then how ? please help...thank you very much
