Absolute paths and WAMP Server

I have been trying to implement the Innova Studio WYSIWYG editor on a site and I'm having trouble configuring it to work on my WAMP development server, whereas I can make it work just fine on my Linux production server, on a machine running IIS or when running XAMPP. The hangup I'm having has to do with needing to specify the absolute path to a given asset folder.

For example:
On the Linux server, this absolute path works: /home/username/www/Editor/assets
On the IIS server, this absolute path works: C:/inetpub/wwwroot/Editor/assets
On the XAMPP server, this absolute path works: C:/xampp/htdocs/Editor/assets
On the WampServer, this absolute path fails: C:/wamp/www/Editor/assets *

*The files are definitely located in the location indicated. (eg. C:\wamp\www\Editor\assets)

My question is this...
Is there some reason that a default WampServer installation wouldn't use absolute paths implicitly?
(Perhaps some reference in the httpd.conf file?)

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It's not free, so might not have too many people use it to see if they would duplicate same problem
