WampServer

ive been running it fine for ages, but vista hung this morning now the mysql service starts briefly for about 30 secs then stops - any pointers of where to start ?

Did you edit any config file or install any soft recently? If yes, undo it. If no, when win hung, it might corrupt some files which causes that problem, and I guess you might have to start over: backup your data and db, uninstall wamp, delete wamp folder, cleanup wampapache and wampmysql in registry, reinstall wamp, then restore your data and db

the reason for the sarcy smiley was simply that i thought i'd have a mare redoing everything - (i rely heavily on having wamp as i run a large wbsite thats constantly being updated and is run from mysql)

i wasnt taking it seriously or personal

good news is that 45 minutes later ive reinstalled wamp & all the tables etc are back up and running offline

That's why I have 3 computers setup as redundant servers; for any reason, primary is down, secondary is immediately kick in, third is a mirror backup

I ran into a problem with skype and wamp server.. if you are running skype on the same computer then shut it down.
