Having trobble with following your tutorial:

then type as belows, remember case is sensitive:
SET PASSWORD FOR root@localhost=PASSWORD('your_new_password');

Its give ERROR 1064 you have an error in sql syntax..

Say for EXAMPLE my password was betty, would it be:
SET PASSWORD FOR root@localhost=PASSWORD(betty);

^^cause thats what im doing and its giving the error..

2. For second place, set password in config.inc.php in /wamp/phpmyadmin.
Find and put your password in this line:
$cfg<'Servers'><$i><'password'> = 'your_new_password'; // MySQL password (only

It can't find that line.. and I can't go to the phpMyAdmin: ''from your Browser/Localhost''

any sugestions?

First, you have to undo any password setup you did in order to get in the normal phpmyadmin

Second, if you decide to use mysql command instead phpmyadmin, you have to open mysql consol through wamp tray icon, not from a regular cmd prompt

Third, config.inc.php is a file which you can open with any text editor and that file locates in folder c:/wamp/phpmyadmin. If you can't find config.inc.php, but only see config.inc which is the correct file for editting; you can only see it as config.inc.php after you disable "Hide known extension" in windows

BTW, you will only see this line:
$cfg<'Servers'><$i><'password'> = ''; // MySQL password (only

And you have to input your password to become:
$cfg<'Servers'><$i><'password'> = 'your_new_password'; // MySQL password (only

How would I go about doing that if I am unable to go to the phpmyadmin page? Because thats where I 1st tried to set a passowrd?

Sorry dude, please bear with me here..

You're welcome anytime ;-)

BTW, very nice banner signature; wonder if I could get one. Out of topic, did you watch that movie "Night Watch"? I'm so excited to get my hand on up-coming "Day Watch"

In order to have a fresh installation again, almost, do these:

1. Uninstall wamp
2. Delete wamp folder
3. Delete wampapache and wampmysql in registry
4. Reinstall wamp

BTW, thanks for for the link; I might try to request one since I can setup, codes, so on but very bad in design

Had everything working this morning after re-installing.. but after i edited the httpd-vhosts I can't view phpadmin page and [localhost] isn't working aswell.

When I do this step:

"Now open httpd-vhost.conf and search for this line:
#NameVirtualHost *:80

Change it to this:
NameVirtualHost your.ip.address.here:80
NameVirtualHost your.ip.address.here:81
NameVirtualHost your.ip.address.here:8080..'.:

Do I just copy all of it and past where NameVirtualHost *:80 was? and leave everything else there, only erasing ''NameVirtualHost *:80''?
