Hello,

im new to this forum though ive been using WAMPSERVER for quite a long time.

I use to backup my WAMP directory every month or so, in case anything goes wrong with my computer... which finally happened. I lost everything i had in my old hard drive, so i had to install WAMPSERVER again.

Since what i backupped was the whole directory of my old WAMPSERVER installation, but i didnt export any of my databases manually, id like to know if theres anyway of making my databases work as they were before my computer crashed. I tried replacing the www, phpmyadmin and mysql old directories by the old ones, but it didnt work.

It would be very helpful if you could give me a hand with this issue. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what type of mysql you have.

Anyway, email me:

my usename + my domain = my email

Have fun,

what kind of backup did you do? did you export or dump your mysql databases or did you just copy the c;\wamp\mysql folder?

ok, then you where using mysql 4. the latest wamp uses mysql 5. these versions are incompatible, so when you added your old mysql data to your new server, they wont work. to get them to work, you will need to install and older version of wamp the comes with mysql 4, or you will need to use OLD_PASSWORDS:
