Server is offline

I've installed WAMP and when I run it, it says that only 1 of 2 services are running - server is offline.

I go to services.msc and I see that WAMPAPACHE is offline/stopped but when I try to start it, I get an error saying that the service cannot be started and if it is a non MS service then contact the vendor/administrator.

How can I fix this?
Thanks

I essentially have this same issue.

My installation was working fine for about a week and today is stopped working. The Apache service will not start up. My System Event Log directs me to the service vendor and refers to a "server-specific error code 1".

I noticed that Port 80 is not being used...I thought Apache uses this port?

Any help is appreciated.

I think I figured my issue out.

I made an alias to my USB flash drive for testing a site I had on there. It worked and I removed the USB flash drive and turned off my system. When I restarted my laptop later, Apache would not start. Once I deleted the Alias to my USB flash drive, Apache started as normal.
