MySQL Access denied

Once I got WAMP running on win 2000 with apache 2.2.5, I succesfully changed the mySQL password for user 'root'@'localhost' thru phpMyAdmin because phpMyAdmin more or less told me to. After that I could not get into phpMyAdmin anymore!

MySQL: #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) .

How can I solve this situation?
I've tried to change config.inc.php without succes ...

With help of [www.jlbn.net] I again tried to change config.inc.php, this time with succes ... :-)
