WampServer

I installed WAMP5. I could not start the apache service.

I decided to uninstall then reinstall. The uninstall seemed to go ok.

But the reinstall hangs on the setup screen after all the files have been extracted.

I tried deleting the entire wamp folder, clearing out the registry entries - all to no avail.

Any ideas ?

a little more info would help. what os are u using? do you use skype. do you have iis or another web server installed? check out my manual too (link to manual is in my sig)

Sorry for the lack of info.

I have XP Sp2. IIS is not installed.

I have cleaned out everything i can find with *wamp* in the name.

I cant figure out what is stopping this working. The first time I installed it, it worked fine. I then uninstalled, and then reinstalled. The reinstallation hangs at the end of the extraction of the files.

I have looked at the blog, the manual and pretty much everything else.

Nothing has helped so far. I would very much appreciate your assistance in this.

(btw I have uninstalled norton AV along the way, with no effect)

Actually what I need to know is what do I have to do to remove ALL trace of wamp5 from my computer.

Are there files outside the c:\wamp folder ?
Are there registry entries that do not include the string "wamp"
