mysql service not installing

Trying to install older version of wamp 1.4.4 on a windows 2003 server, this server does run IIS and I am aware to change the Apache port.
My problem is with the mysql service not running, after reading different listings suggesting to uninstall and remove service I still cannot get it to run the service.
The Mysql service runs fine using new Wamp installs like 1.6 and 1.7 but I would like to run Apache 1.33
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

is the mysql service running and you are having problems accessing mysql, or is the service not starting? hover the mouse next to the wamp system tray icon and tell me how many services are running.

The service will not install during installation and is not present in the services, when you attempt to install the mysql service from the wamp system tray nothing happens and the start, stop and restart services is all grayed out.
