Somebody PLEASE help me...

I'm trying to learn PHP and MySql.

Found your site, downloaded WAMP and installed it.

Now how do I check if mysql server is working?

I'm getting white hair here trying to do something, anything...

Looking at tutorials and books and can't figure out how to do anything with mysql.

If my question is too general please let me know.

If someone can help, please help me out of my misery...

The reason I wanted to learn php is because I started learning Flex and need to know how to create webservices, am I going the right way by learning php?
