Howdy folks!

I have been using wamp for some time and I love it. I have run into a problem recently though...

Apache will not start no matter what I do.

I accidentally clicked on an Apache Module, "vhost_alias_module", and then my apache went down and I am not sure how to get it back up and working.

I really do not want to have to reinstall this whole package. I tried to force it to start from the services pane and it gave me an error saying it cant start the service.

Any ideas?

btw: I am using Wamp5 v1.6.5 on WinXP SP2
IIS is not running and I am not running anything else occupying port 80 on this machine.
Everything was working fine until I hit that module...

Try this:

Completely shut down and exit your wamp, then open httpd.conf in wamp/apache2/conf and put the # sign in front of this line if it's not there or take it off if it's there:

LoadModule vhost_alias_module modules/mod_vhost_alias.so

Then restart your wamp

Thanks for the assistance yfastud, that specific uncomment/comment didn't work.

So I uncommented all of them (hahah) and it actually started so you got me on the right track. I appreciate that. I think I have a back up of my httpd.conf (I actually archived my server yesterday). So I will cut and paste that section back to the .conf file.

Thanks a million you are appreciated. :-)

Cut and paste might crash your system, so replace the whole file instead
