WampServer

How do you activate php gd2 in wamp server, i tried removing the " ; " and also putting the directory path in the "extension_dir" but the server is still telling me GD library doesn't exist.
Also i find two php.ini files in the php directory in wamp namely "PHP-recommended" and PHP-Dist" i don't have a file named only as php.ini. I am trying to install osdate. Please help.

follow the instructions in the second post here, except select php_gd2 instead of php_xml
