fortually for you I use wordpress myself, so i can help you with that. create a blank .htaccess file and put it in your root blog directory. the same directory that wp-config.php is located in.
to enable mod_rewrite open your apache conf file. start wamp if it is not already started.
left click on the wamp tray icon menu -> config files -> httpd.conf
find:
#LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
remove the pound sign ( # ) in front to enable it
LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
save the file and restart apache for the new setting to take effect.
