Wamp 1.7.0 and Apache real_exit_code Error

Hi

I've just reformatted my server for something to do, and upgraded Wamp to 1.7.0.

Unfortunately, the apache service will not start. When running apache manually from the command line, a msgbox says:

"The procedure point real_exit_code could not be located in the dynamic link library libhttpd.dll."

I'm using:
Windows Server 2003 Standard, SP2, all updates applied.

I reverted back to 1.6.6 and everything works fine. I'm not sure of the cause, I haven't tested it on multiple operating systems. This is not an emergency for me. Just thought it should be documented.

Could this have anything to do with why Apache doesn't start? See [forum.wampserver.com]

No, not really. I did test port 80, all was good. It was a clean install, nothing else (apart from windows updates) has been installed.

I did a quick search for real_exit_code in the apache docs and apparently there have been changes along the development relating to the use of the API. I can only guess that one of the changes in the apache that comes with 1.7.0 does not agree with my particular installation.

wow, did a search of real_exit_code myself, and this page is already indexed by google listed in spot 3 on page 1.

i am not sure why but many other users have had problems with the latest version of wamp, but when they went back to 1.6.6 3everything worked fine.

I've tried to find 1.6.6, but all the download pages seem to have only 1.7.0. Any suggestions?
