403 error
Posted by: tuntis (---.kotinet.com)

After accidently pressing "Put online", it refuses me to access anything in the server (with a browser) when it's "offline".

Help?

edit:
sorry I meant 403.

When in on-line mode, you access your site w/ your web ip.

No; I am having troubles accessing the server when it's *not online*. This started happening after clicking the put online button (and putting it offline)

if server is in offline mode, use [localhost], when using online mode, use [your.ip.address.here]

It says "Forbidden" even if using localhost.

make sure you have an index.html or index.php file in your web root, c:\wamp\www

Yes, I do. I've had lots of projects and I can't access any folder in the web root anymore, after accidently pushing "put online" (AND PUTTING OFFLINE).

Honestly, you might did something wrong other than just "accidently" switch to on-line mode. Instead try to spend your value time to find a hopeless solution, just backup all your data, uninstall and re-install wamp, than restore all your data.

Doesn't work. Yes, I deleted all from the wamp folder, reinstalled, no luck.

You have to uninstall first, then re-install. BTW, did you install any program recently?

Yes, I did uninstall (and even delete all folders it left behind), installed wamp again and copied back the mysql data (I didn't need the www folder, as the www folder is the folder the wamp folder is in). No, I didn't "install any program recently".

this has been happening to me recently as well. also wamp is unable to load mysql properly. i get this error on the wamp homepage:

Undefined variable: mysql_version in C:\wamp2\www\index.php on line 179

i have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and keep getting this error as well as 403 errors for both the phpmyadmin and sqlitemanager features off of a clean install. all the services are running without any problems and the wamp directory has been added to my system environment variables.

it worked once, then after a restart it never worked again.

undefined variable errors are not system/server errors, they are programming errors. add this to the first line of your php scripts.

error_reporting(E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE);

Actually, after scanning the whole threat, I think your problem is some soft in your computer block wamp, even after uninstall and reinstall, so if you don't want to re-format hd, better get a new one (right now Staples has external 60GB for less than 10 buck) then only install windows and wamp, and they must work, then install back your soft 1 by 1 to find out which 1 is the cause.
