Vista 64 Help?

I installed WAMP 1.7.0 in my Windows Vista Premium 64 bit OS. I start the services and they all start properly. However, i keep getting a 404 page error when I open the browser using [localhost]. I tested port 80 and it comes back with "Your Port 80 is Actually Used By: Server: Microsoft IIS/7.0"

I have tried to disable my firewall - turned off all of the security and allowed the port to allow the apache server.

Can anybody help me?

I would just go back to windows xp pro! Not sure why people want to install a 64 bit operating system when most programs will not even work properly on a 64 bit os. Brought it out a little early I think.

Either disable iis or edit config files to run both; however both iis and apache are webservers so they might conflict later on. If interested in run both, check my old post here

[forum.wampserver.com]

If not interested running both, disable both iis and publishing service in vista

Disable iis (credited to Dmondark) as follows:
1) open the Services console (Start-->Run-->type 'services.msc' and hit enter)
2) scroll to the service named "IIS Admin" and double click it
3) select Disabled from the Startup Type dropdown list and press Ok
4) right click on the IIS Admin and select stop
5) confirm the stop verification

Disable publishing service (credited to ShadowDrakken)
It is called "World Wide Web Publishing Service" in the Services snap-in, and obscures itself as "SYSTEM" on the task manager

64-bit really help a lot, especially true server like mine have only 5 programs and nothing else:

Windows Vista Business
McAfee Internet Security Suite 9
WAMPS
FTP Server
Mail Server

You're thinking about for normal use, but some people here for real live server, buddy
