if you buy the windows vista upgrade, make sure you keep your windows xp install disk. even if you are installing your vista upgrade on a new computer, you will have to install windows xp first before you can upgrade to vista. this does not apply to the full retail version though.

And w/ this method you can also dual boot w/ your current OS, too; however, do this at your own risk because based on the latest news from M$, it's illegal to do that.
