PHPMyAdmin password

Hi,

How do I change the password to PHPMyAdmin. I know how to change password in MySQL console, but once I did that, PHPMyAdmin says

Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.9.2

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
Error

MySQL said: Documentation
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

I tried to look from config.inc.php, I find two of them in my WAMP folder. The other one said that i shouldn't modify it and the file, that file is located in wamp\phpmadmin, the other one didn't seem to have anything password related, that file is located in wamp\sqlitemanager\include.

So, what do I edit and to where? My new password is "admin"

First, don't post your reall pass in this forum

Second, sqlitemanager is for sqlite db while phpmyadmin is for mysql db, so of course you have to edit the 1 in phpmyadmin.

Check my old post here for the idea

lol i just did this. i got it fixed but by luck. if you read it it says
----You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php----

that file, if your useing wamp is in wamp >phpmyadmin >folder> config.ini.

I found that opened it in dreamweaver it might say dont edit this file but i did.

i went to line 73 (atleast my file was) looked like this.
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password']

i put in the password there. it worked for me.
now it has to stay there. anyone what file will make it so you dont need to even have a pw?

I just want to say, i dont know a lick of php, i just started learning html and css a few months ago, and trying to get phpnuke running on my site.

Please reply if you know how to make it so --$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] -- can remain blank.

You'd better leave it there and just work on your projects because it's there for your protection and never really get in your way.

I think Nuke Platinum is better than standard Nuke, but of course, it's a little more complicated though

I posted the password to get exact answers and because it is there just for exercises that I do without connecting MySQL to Internet. If someone anyway would want to screw up my practice databases that have things like one row having name "John Doe", be my quest. I'm not going to publish anything with that password, it is way too easy to answer anyway.

But thanks for warning me. And rest of the answer was helpful.
