Dreamweaver Connection

Hello,

I can connect to my remote hosting company fine thru dreamweaver but decided to setup wamp to do local testing.

Looks like it is running correct. However when i hover over the icon on the menu bar it says:
All services running-server offline

Ok and I try to make a database connection thru Dreamweaver and i have not luck. It tells me me
1)There is no testing server running
2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to
[localhost] URL.
Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.

So do I have a mapping wrong do you think or because the hover message says "server offline" has something to do with it?

Thanks

Don't know if this is the reason, because I just installed the wamp package.
I had the same problem because IIS was still running. go to IIS manager and stop IIS.

also make sure skype is not running. it uses the same port as apache and iis. so if skype is running and using that port, apache or iis will not start.

also make sure you dont have any other copies of apache installed. that causes problems too.

Try right clicking on the taskbar icon and selecting 'Put Server Online' (at the bottom)

Dear Rob

No need to stop your IIS server. just install the wamp with default configurations. and before you run the server open httpd.conf file and change your listning port to port 8080 that means you run your web server on port 8080 since the IIS and apache run on port 80 by default that is why you can not run iis and apache as the same time. so when you access the apache you have to type [localhost] and for IIS [localhost]
